Clinical negligence and personal injury specialist joins Ctrl AI as firms look beyond general-purpose AI
Ctrl AI appoints Iain Cherry as Sector Director, Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury.
London, UK, 2 November 2026: Ctrl AI, the technology platform for complex and high-volume disputes, today announces the appointment of Iain Cherry as Sector Director, Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury. Iain will lead Ctrl AI’s strategy across the clinical negligence and personal injury sectors and build strategic partnerships with the law firms and insurers that handle these claims.
Iain will work across claims of every size, including serious injury and high-value cases. His appointment builds on the launch of Ctrl AI’s clinical negligence capabilities in October.
Iain brings more than 15 years of commercial leadership in personal injury, clinical negligence and legal services. Throughout his career he has built partnerships with law firms, funders and insurers, and advised executive boards on growth strategy in regulated markets.
The appointment comes as firms in both sectors decide how to bring AI into their casework. Clinical negligence and personal injury claims rest on medical evidence: records from several providers covering months or years of treatment, and expert reports that have to be tested against them. A lawyer needs to trace every point back to the page it came from before relying on it, and general-purpose AI platforms were not built to do that.
Ctrl AI was designed around this work. It turns the records into a paginated bundle and a chronology of care linked to the source page, then tests the expert’s report against them. Lawyers make the decisions, and a named reviewer checks each output before anyone relies on it. The platform keeps a record of every check.
“Clinical negligence and personal injury firms are working out where AI fits into their casework. These cases turn on medical evidence, and general-purpose platforms can’t show a lawyer where each finding came from or who checked it.
Iain knows these sectors and the firms and insurers that work in them. He will lead our strategy and the partnerships that bring Ctrl AI to more of the market. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
“Behind every clinical negligence and personal injury case is someone whose life has changed because of what happened to them. The lawyers I’ve worked with care a great deal about getting those cases right, and I’ve seen how much of their time goes into preparing the evidence before they can judge a case’s merits.
Ctrl AI was built around how these cases are run. It does that preparation sooner and links every finding to the page it came from, so teams get more time for their clients while the lawyer stays in charge of every decision. I’m looking forward to helping firms across both sectors put it to work.”
